Travels Through My Mind – Secrets Book Two

After reading ‘Pages of Your Life,’ Book One of Leanne Wood’s ‘Secrets’ trilogy, I didn’t waste any time starting the second one, ‘Travels Through My Mind.’ Both books are told from the first person perspective – the first by the mother, Shirley Rumming, and the second by her daughter Claire.  As is often true in real life situations between adults and their offspring, each one at times perceives the same situation in an entirely different way and the reader is left to draw their own conclusions. The author’s cleverly written dialogue for both of these characters, clearly demonstrates the age difference between the two women, as Claire picks up where Shirley left off, and the changes in voice, era and generation become unmistakably evident. Both stories are packed with emotion and filled with jaw dropping surprises I didn’t see coming. Where the story will go to from here is anybody’s guess, but I am confident Book Three, ‘Where Secrets Lie’ will be an enthralling read from cover to cover, and I for one can’t wait to get my hands on it.
